Keep Active
A brand new project for adults with a learning disability, supporting you to enjoy sport and exercise and to pursue this independently.
Workshops and taster sessions are held at daycentres and residential units across East Surrey, promoting the benefits of an active lifestyle on physical and emotional well-being, social interaction and independence.
You are then encouraged to attend the YMCA Sports and Community Centre for up to 3, one-to-one sessions, supporting you to take part in sport and exercise until gradually you feel confident in exercising on your own. Ongoing support is always on hand from our specially trained team.
Active Living Volunteers
A number of Active Living participants will have the chance to train as sports coaches and fitness instructors. Volunteer opportunities exist for you to support other Active Living participants. This will help you gain new skills and increased self-confidence and may lead you into work.
