Someone to talk to Face2Face!
Have you recently learned that your child has a disability? Perhaps the news came as a complete shock to you. Or perhaps you had suspected it for a while and this has confirmed your fears. Face2Face is here to help. We offer a one-to-one befriending service and weekly drop in Parent’s Group for parents of a child diagnosed with a disability. Face2Face is run by volunteers who are parents of a disabled child themselves and so know exactly what you are going through.
Volunteers have undergone intensive, specialised training to ensure they have the skills to support you when you need it the most.

A £2,500 grant from Surrey County Council’s ‘Children’s Fund’ gave the project a start by providing training for volunteer befrienders. Since then £5,000 grant from Mencap and £2,500 from HBOS Foundation has enabled us to train more volunteers and pay their travel expenses. A grant of £1,000 from Councillor Anna Tarrant has funded the Parents’ Group, providing room hire and refreshments. |
As one parent says ‘I found it was such a relief to talk to another parent about my feelings and fears. I know that some things were understood even if they were unsaid.’
Face2Face is informal, flexible and free. To contact us telephone Chris on 01737 779979 (Mondays only), 07947 254416 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
