We believe that everyone should be able to live a full and active life, regardless of their disability or health condition.

Sport and exercise, volunteering or social activities - we are renowned for our services for local disabled children, young people and adults.  We strive to make it possible for disabled people to participate in all our mainstream services and where necessary we run specific projects for those with higher support needs.

Face2Face is a befriending project and weekly drop-in Parents Group for parents with a child recently diagnosed with a disability

Fit for Life exercise sessions focus on the needs of elderly or disabled people and those with chronic health conditions such as heart attacks, strokes or mental health issues

Active Living is a new programme for adults with learning disabilities to take part in sport and exercise within their community and offers volunteer opportunities too

Fitness Pioneers is a volunteer programme for disabled people to train as fitness instructors or sports coaches, and then in turn lead Fit for Life sessions, inspiring their peers

Yippee holiday playschemes and a Saturday Club for children with a disability or complex needs offers children with high support needs a safe and fun time.  For children with less profound disability we have inclusive places on our mainstream playschemes.

Yip 4 Youth offers leisure time activities for young disabled people and teaches them skills for independence

Sports and Social is a Friday night youth club for young disabled people to enjoy sports, trips to the cinema or to hang out with friends

Y Mania is a regular nightclub event for young people with a disability to enjoy music, dancing and their first relationships

V.buddies a new project to help young people with a disability take part in leisure activities, will be launched in April.  Young disabled people are matched with a young volunteer who will help them attend organised sports and leisure clubs, join in YMCA social events and outings, or just be a friend to go to the cinema or bowling with.
