Our vision is to help all local people, regardless of age or abilty, to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle, that challenges them to be the best they can be.
We are renowned for our activities for disabled people that means they can play a full and active role in the community.

5 ways we do this:

Housing and Homelessness

Hillbrook House gives young homeless people somewhere to stay and supports them to move on with their lives. Next Steps rent deposit scheme, helps local vulnerable people access private rented accommodation.

Sports and Fitness

The YMCA Sports and Community Centre is a lively and energetic place for local people to get fit, try new things, challenge themselves and make friends. From sessions in our fitness gym, classes in our exercise studio (50 each week!), badminton and table tennis, there is something for everyone to enjoy. An on-site crèche frees parents to exercise.

Through Fit for Life, Fitness Pioneers and Active Living projects, we support elderly, disabled and chronically ill people to take part in a physically active lifestyle and offer opportunities for volunteering. This helps improve people’s physical and emotional well-being, giving a purpose to the day and reducing social isolation.

Inclusive playschemes help disabled children play alongside non-disabled children whilst Yippee playschemes give profoundly disabled children a chance to play with their friends and Yip 4 Youth helps disabled young people become more independent and v.buddies supports young disabled people to access leisure activities by pairing them with a young volunteer buddy.

Afterschool arts and sport activities and weekly youth clubs give young people something productive to do with their time. Heads Together, youth counselling, helps young people overcome difficult life events.

Surrey vinvolved offers a range of volunteer opportunities for young people across Surrey, whilst Hillbrook House and the services offered there, help young people turn their lives around.

Children

Children's Services - afterschool club, Saturday Club, holiday playschemes, sports clubs and classes for the under 5’s, engage children in a range of activities that boost self-confidence and develop new friendships.

DYK

Last year we were visited 32,721 times by local children who took part in playschemes, sport, childcare and recreational activities.

There were over 62,000 visits to either the fitness gym or exercise classes too.
