Booking Information
Crèche places can be booked a week in advance by contacting our
reception either in person or by phone on
01737 779979 (payment is
required). If crèche is fully booked names can be put on a waiting
list, any cancelled spaces on the day will be available on a first come
first serve basis.
Sessions run from 9.15am to 11.15am Monday to
Friday and prices are £2.00 for children who are members or £3.00 if
the child is not a member. Children's membership is £12 for a year.
Little Roo's Crèche offers a range of activities for the
children to enjoy while you work out. Each day there is
an art and craft activity, which the children can then take
away to display at home. Sometimes they help to create a
wall collage, the theme of which changes regularly. A wide
variety of toys are available such as dressing up clothes,
cars and a garage, toy kitchen and plenty of puzzles and
books for the quieter moments.
Monday, Wednesday and
Friday the children can spend time in the main hall where
the bouncy castle and soft play area are set up.
Around 10am there is a break in the activities while the
children have a drink and biscuit. Babies can be bottle fed
at any time as necessary.
The session starts at 9.15am and finishes at 11.15am,
please be prompt in collecting your children. The store
cupboard is kept closed throughout the morning to avoid
accidents and packing away will not begin until 11.15am.
Any toys, clothes, etc, which the children have left behind
are put into the blue box or filing cabinet and will be kept
safe until your next visit.
Health and Safety
-
A qualified first aider is always on site. Any accidents that happen
throughout the morning will be recorded on a accident form, which
the parent/guardian must sign when they collect their child.
-
Any child considered to have an illness will not be allowed to attend
the crèche; this will be at the discretion of the crèche supervisor or
another member of staff in the supervisor's absence.
-
Parents must sign the registration form on each occasion, allowing
the Crèche staff to act on the child's behalf in the event of an
accident.
-
Parents should inform the Crèche supervisor of any allergies that
their child has or of any of the activities that they cannot take part in.
-
We offer high levels of supervision with staff who are experienced in
childcare and first aid. All staff are police checked and trained in
child protection.
-
Members of staff take children to the toilet regularly and they are
accompanied to and from the toilet.
-
Nappies are changed in a safe area, which is cleaned after every
use and we will work with parents on their child's potty training if
required.
-
Parents are requested to ensure that children's beakers, clothes
and changing equipment (if provided) are clearly named.
-
Parents are asked to put nappies in designated bins only.
Childcare at Reigate and Redhill YMCA
The YMCA is a charity-based organisation, which is established
through the world. Within this country we are the biggest childcare
provider, having contact with over 70,000 children each year, reaching
out to more than 40,000 families throughout England, Ireland, Scotland
and Wales. The Reigate and Redhill YMCA is just one of many which
operate a range of activities and schemes for children. This leaflet is to
provide parents and guardians with important information about Little
Roo's Crèche and the standards that we encourage to maintain, in
order to provide the best possible quality of care.
Children's Charter
The YMCA's Children's Charter aims to ensure that through it's work
with children, each child:
-
Will be welcomed into a safe, caring, Christian environment with a
happy and friendly atmosphere.
-
Will be regarded as individuals, listened to, have their feelings
respected and opinions valued.
-
Will be cared for by skilled and experienced staff, who understand
the needs of children.
-
Will be given praise and encouragement, opportunities to succeed
and an environment where positive behaviour is promoted.
-
Will have access to stimulating, fun and creative activities
supportive of each child's stage of development, which
encourages emotional, social, physical, intellectual and spiritual
growth.
-
Will provide opportunities to realise their full potential to learn new
skills, develop self-confidence and a positive self-image.
