Booking forms for all schemes are available from the YMCA. All bookings must be accompanied by payment and can be made in person, by post or over the phone using a credit or debit card.
Each scheme has its own age limit ranging from 5 - 15 year olds. It is essential that children are within the age limit of each scheme for OFSTED Registration and insurance purposes. We aim to make all our schemes as inclusive as possible and treat every child as an individual. Children with learning and physical disabilities are most welcome and we have additional one to one support for a number of holiday places. We also offer a playscheme for children with challenging behaviour and physical difficulties, that may struggle to interact with mainstream children. Please discuss your child's requirements with our Special Needs Co- ordinator Vicki Evemy.
Children should wear practical, comfortable clothes that allow them to move around easily. Arts and craft and cooking and some sport activities may mean children's clothing could be marked so please do not send them in their best clothes. For particular activities and daytrips, including the Sportscamp parents will be advised of any specific clothing after booking. If possible all clothes should be labelled clearly with the child's name.
Children need to bring a packed lunch in a sealed and labelled container. If possible for the warmer months a freezer pack may be used. Drinks including water and squash will be served throughout the day.
We ensure that all our holiday schemes provide the highest quality activities and care for all the children attending. All our playschemes are registered with Ofsted. All staff go through a selection process and are then trained and police checked. All coaches on Sportscamp are qualified to at least Level 2 standard.
Risk assessments take place at all of the schemes and any equipment used is tested to ensure it is safe and secure. On all the schemes there is at least one trained first aider on site at all times. In the unlikely event that a more serious accident takes place or if a child falls ill whilst in our care parents will be contacted straight away.
Children may want to bring money for the daily tuck shop. It is recommended they bring it in a clearly labelled purse and hand it in to the scheme co- ordinator at the start of the day.

The YMCA is a charitable non-profit making organisation that aims to provide activities for all sections of the community. Proceeds from the 2003 Fun Run and 3 peaks Challenge have been set aside to provide a number of free and subsidised places on YMCA schemes for children with a disability and families facing severe difficulties. If you would like to apply for a free or subsidised place please write to Ian Burks at the YMCA address.
